Maida Plant / Roller flour mill plant
In an industrial roller flour milling plant, clean wheat undergoes pre-conditioning and dampening (tempering) with controlled moisture to toughen the outer bran layer while softening the endosperm. The conditioned grain is then routed through a progressive sequence of break rolls, reduction rolls, plansifters, and purifiers that systematically separate, grind, and sift the grain components into distinct stream fractions.
Through precise sifting mesh control and bran separation, the final milling output yields five co products: maida (fine, refined endosperm flour), atta (whole wheat flour fraction), rawa (coarse wheat endosperm granules), suji (fine wheat endosperm semolina), and chowker (the residual outer bran shell used primarily for animal feed).
